Show felt like it wanted to push us into to believing this or making predictions about that, but I was too busy enjoying the characters to care about who ended up in that box. Like we all knew it wasn’t gonna be Rachel right? And there wasn’t any aggressive effort to subvert who we thought it might’ve been. So when it just so happened to be Armond I felt very cheated like that’s too obvious a choice. “Sober man comes across a bag of drugs amongst rich white people and dies”? It’s a little sad that the happiest moment in that finale (for me at least) was when Quinn abandoned the fam to get his Hokule’a on.
Just said to my partner today that I was so happy Quinn made a run for it. I would watch his story in season 2 with his family back in Richville, USA having a panic attack and unraveling while trying to bring him home.

Great insights! Season 2 should just be an Armond prequel.
