you call emerald ‘seemingly privileged’, but for british people it runs much more deeply than that. she is from enormous privilege and wealth, and her making a film like this in a house that she borrowed from a family friend after forging a career through personal connections leaves a very sour taste in my mouth. if you’re gonna be a nepo baby, you need to at least be good at your job, and she really isn’t

I did enjoy quite a bit of the film, even if it left me wanting. I’m fascinated by it at the least and her attempts to rewrite her own story.
