Still not sold on Bluesky or Threads, but would love live chats for Subscribers for recapping reality shows like Housewives, of course. Even weekly roundups! The trash tv/film/art/culure discussions are the only element of Twitter I actually miss since deleting.

I'll start adding threads for the recaps and more shows!

I deleted Threads the day after the election bc the liberal/blue bubble on there left me devastated. I also deleted Insta and Reddit bc honestly, what good comes from sharing random things with the internet? I’m tired of the ads, I’m tired of the consumerism, I’m tired of arguing with people I’ll never see in real life.

I’ve basically quit IG (and am begging businesses to stop using it as a website replacement!) and you nailed the kinda weird vibe at Bluesky. Starting to feel like I’ve definitely aged out of the desire to share my life online.

This piece spoke to a lot of my feelings lately lol I joined Bluesky as part of the virtual exodus that a lot of people seem to be doing from Twitter, and over this past week I’ve just felt like David Byrne going “how did I get here?” You hit it on the head about the exhaustion of it all. I stay active on socials to stay engaged with conversations around culture. It’s really been my only means of getting my thoughts out there since I don’t write about pop culture like I used to. My engagement is better suited in the company of others who I can actively have a dialogue with but sometimes it’s harder to find that community out in the real world.

Will miss you on X but who knows? I might follow suit myself soon...

Congrats on leaving Twitter (will never bend the knee to Elon and call it X).

Also glad to hear about your friend’s salon series. I hosted one for the last few years and can tell you, people a) were very happy for the invite and b) those discussions are still the source of much discussion, inside jokes, and beautiful memories that I will cherish forever.
