The Real Housewives of Potomac
Season 9, Episode 13: “Rum-ble in the Jungle”
Grade: C
This season of Potomac has been a rebuilding year that I’m still mostly positive about. But now that we’ve reached the near-end of the season, it’s time to assess a few things that are working and some that aren’t. First off, Gizelle is having her best year ever. She’s funny, likable, engaged, and has no unnecessary enemies. Wendy is also greatly improved. She doesn’t have much going on besides her endless birthday celebrations, but she was the funniest this week, so she can have her eights! Still, I wonder about her place on the show with her seeming lack of tight bonds with anyone else in the cast. Stacey is one of the best Bravo newbies added in 2024, she can stay! TJ can go, though. Karen Huger is a mess off-screen and faking the funk on screen. But we still love her.
Now, the negatives. Ashley is a chop, still. I miss Robyn staying on Karen’s neck. I miss Candiace now, which I never thought I would. Keiarna is a chop, too. She’s just kind of… there? Mia’s storyline is low vibrational. And now she’s allegedly broken up with Inc and gotten back together with Gordon? Get her OFF my TV screen. And she can take her chambermaid Jacqueline with her.
We pick up back in Panama, where the ladies are on their slightly boring trip. It’s not giving Salt Lake City in Puerto Vallarta, okay? Mia is on the phone, terrified that she can’t find her children since Gordon dropped them off with a former nanny. And now he’s not answering his phone. I won’t be the one to say that Mia knows exactly where her damn kids are and that she’s faking this drama for the show, but thankfully, the other women do that for me later. Mia goes on about how Gordon wants to “control” his children since he lost his job and his wife. The editors helpfully show Jacqueline repeating the party line in a flashback. They’re so in tandem that there’s no way this isn’t coordinated. Mia manages to “locate” the nanny and it turns out her kids are fine, so she doesn’t have to leave the trip at all! Imagine that.
