The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
Season 14, Episode 3: “Life’s a Beach”
Grade: B+
The fans commenting on Bravo’s official Instagram page are Team Kyle. I don’t dislike Kyle like many do, but I have grown tired of her shtick. Kyle is a perpetual victim, and she’s always been deft at getting the audience on her side in any battle. However, this season, she’s losing the plot. The strings are far too obvious and the reasons for being mad are a little too conjured out of thin air. She’s giving Lisa Vanderpump in her final season, but Kyle obviously isn’t going to run for the hills. This is still her show after all.
Or is it Dorit’s now?
We open this episode with Kathy delivering suitcases to the ladies to invite them on a trip to Oceanside. I love it when the ladies deliver their invites on Housewives, but somehow this feels too try-hard coming from Kathy. The dress, the bucket hat, it’s giving too much! She stops by Boz first, who is confused as to why Kathy is at her door with “a pleated bucket hat and a suitcase.” The running gag of this episode seems to be that Boz finds Kathy mildly annoying, which I love.
Garcelle receives her invitation at a photo shoot with her son Jaid. Jaid has just joined LA Models and I have to say, the shoot turned out fucking great. Can whoever styled Garcelle for the shoot style her for the show? Because she has never truly figured out her look in all of her seasons on BH!
